Lions Tour FAQs
For the Lions v Wallabies Test Matches in 2025, a dedicated number of priority tickets have been exclusively reserved for eligible members of Australian Super Rugby Clubs. As the demand for these tickets is expected to exceed the number of available tickets for the Lions v Wallabies Test Matches, an online Ticket Ballot is being used. This Ticket Ballot, similar to those at other major global events, provides the fairest system by allocating tickets at random and works as follows.
- Eligible members choose the Ballot Entry: The Lions v Wallabies match of their choice here (Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney)
- Eligible members choose their Super Rugby Club from the date dropdown, enter the password(s) provided into the password box, and click Apply Now.
- Eligible members select the highest price category they are willing to pay per ticket if successful when tickets are allocated. Members should select ‘Platinum or next best category’ to increase their chance of success.
- Eligible Members select the number of tickets they wish to pay for if successful when tickets are allocated. Each password allows members to apply for up to two (2) tickets per Test Match.
- Eligible embers sign into their Ticketek account and complete their application.
Please note that entering a Ticket Ballot is not a guarantee that you will receive tickets.
- Once applications close, Ticketek’s automated ballot system will randomly allocate tickets to applicants on one of the following dates if you are successful: 28, 29 or 30 October 2024.
- If successful, applicants will then be automatically charged the total cost of their allocated tickets. The charge will be made to the credit card entered when applying for the Ticket Ballot. Applicants must ensure they have enough funds on their nominated credit card to pay for all requested tickets as there will be no follow up if their credit card declines – tickets will instead be reallocated to the next eligible member.
- Applicants will be emailed by Ticketek by 5pm AEDT Thursday 31 October 2024 confirming if they have been successful or unsuccessful in securing a ticket(s).
If eligible members want to apply for more than one Test Match, they simply repeat the application steps for a different match.
Due to the randomisation of the Ticket Ballot, if an eligible member applies for more than one Test Match then there is a chance they could be charged for tickets to multiple Test Matches. It is therefore strongly recommend to only apply for the Test Match(es) that eligible members want to attend and can afford to purchase tickets to as payment is automatic and tickets are non-refundable.
DATE & TIME | EVENT |
---|---|
Monday 21 October 2024, 12pm AEDT | Ballot applications open |
Sunday 27 October 2024, 5pm AEDT | Ballot applications close |
28, 29 or 30 October 2024 | Tickets are allocated to members and payments are processed (i.e. payment is processed on either 28, 29 or 30 October). |
Thursday 31 October 2024, 5pm AEDT | Members will receive an email from Ticketek confirming if they have been successful or unsuccessful in securing tickets. |
It does not matter what time eligible members apply during the Ticket Ballot Application window as all applications will be randomised to determine the order in which tickets are allocated.
Eligible members can apply for up to two (2) tickets per password per Test Match.
If you wish to have tickets allocated next to other eligible members, you MUST apply together in the one application – simply enter each password on a new line in the password box (up to a maximum of 5 passwords / 10 tickets per application).
Please note, applications will be treated as ‘all in’ or ‘none in’ – group applications will not be split.
Entering the Ticket Ballot does not guarantee a ticket. It places you within the Ticket Ballot to have the chance to secure your Lions v Wallabies Test Match ticket(s).

Eligible members must select the highest price category they are willing to pay for should they be successful in the Ticket Ballot.
Tickets will be allocated on a next best available basis, and we strongly recommend that eligible members select the Platinum or next best category option when applying to increase their chances of success. For example:
- If a member selects Platinum or next best category and is successful in being allocated a ticket, the system will assign them the best available ticket. If all the Platinum tickets have been allocated, Gold will be allocated. If Gold tickets have all been allocated then Silver will be allocated, and so on.
- If a member selects Bronze or Gold Brigade and all tickets have already been allocated to those who selected more categories, they will not be successful in obtaining a ticket.
Platinum or next best category | Successful members will be allocated and charged for a Platinum ticket or the next best available ticket category (subject to availability) |
Gold or next best category | Successful members will be allocated and charged for a Gold ticket or the next best available ticket category (subject to availability) |
Silver or next best category | Successful members will be allocated and charged for a Silver ticket or the next best available ticket category (subject to availability) |
Bronze or Gold Brigade | Successful members will be allocated and charged for a Bronze or Gold Brigade ticket |
Eligible embers who successfully secure a ticket will be automatically charged the total cost of their allocated tickets as per the ticket prices below (in addition to the $2.50 application fee per ticket already paid). The charge will be made to the credit card entered when applying for the Ticket Ballot.
Eligible members must ensure they have enough funds on their nominated credit card to pay for all requested tickets as there will be no follow up if their credit card declines – tickets will instead be reallocated to the next eligible member.

Eligible members can apply for more than one Test Match. If they do, they may be successful in securing tickets for more than one Test Match due to the random nature of the Ticket Ballot.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the randomisation of the Ticket Ballot, if an eligible member applies for more than one Test Match then there is a chance they could secure tickets, and be charged for tickets, for multiple Test Matches. It is strongly recommend to only apply for the Test Match(es) that eligible members want to attend and can afford to purchase tickets to as payment is automatic and tickets are non-refundable once allocated.
Eligible members will be charged a $2.50 application fee per ticket requested when applying to cover Ticketek administration costs. This fee will be refunded if an eligible member is unsuccessful in securing a ticket.
If successful, there is a per transaction charge fee. This charge is only applied per transaction, so whether you purchase 1 or 4 tickets in a single transaction you will only ever pay one fee. Transaction fees vary for each venue and will be a maximum of $9.95.
The transaction charge covers various expenses associated with taking, processing and fulfilling your order, as well as the costs associated with supporting the technology that facilitates the purchase and scanning of tickets for every match.
