Rugby League Christmas Gifts 2026: Five Picks From Amazon Australia’s Charts
These are five rugby league gifts Australians were buying on Amazon on 2 November 2026, and none of them is a book. For each one we read the product page and the buyer reviews, and checked the details against Steeden’s own size chart and the NRL’s mouthguard policy. So each pick says who it suits and what can go wrong with it.
There are no prices here because they change every day. The Amazon page shows today’s price and the delivery date for your postcode.
| Gift | Best for | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Steeden NRL Supporter Ball | Any NRL fan | The 11 inch size is a little kid’s ball |
| Steeden Classic Trainer | A teenager who trains | Arrives flat, so add a pump |
| Steeden Telescopic Kicking Tee | The backyard goal kicker | One buyer says the two parts come apart |
| SAFEJAWZ Slim Fit Mouthguard | A junior player’s stocking | A spare, not a dentist-made guard |
| Gilbert RWC 2027 Replica Ball | A rugby union fan | A replica, not the match ball |
The NRL fan: a ball in their club’s colours
If you only buy one thing on this list, buy this. Steeden’s supporter ball is officially licensed by the NRL and printed in a club’s colours, and you choose the club on the Amazon page. It was number 2 in Amazon Australia’s rugby balls when we checked, with more than 200 bought in the past month.
The listing sells two sizes, and they are very different. Size 5 is the full senior ball: Steeden’s chart puts it at 30.5 cm tip to tip and says it’s for players aged 13 and over. The 11 inch is only 21.5 cm, smaller even than the Mini that Steeden makes for six to nine-year-olds. That makes it a little kid’s ball, or one for the shelf. Recent reviewers bought it for a three-year-old and an eight-year-old.
The one bad recent review was a Roosters ball that arrived looking like a factory second. Open it when it lands, while there’s still time to swap it before Christmas.
The teenager who trains: the number 1 ball on Amazon Australia
A supporter ball is for show. The Steeden Classic Trainer is for training, and on 2 November it was the best-selling rugby ball on Amazon Australia, also with more than 200 bought in the past month. It has a training-grade rubber cover over a two-ply lining that holds its shape, and the multicoloured version has pink, yellow, blue and green panels.
The listing is size 5, so it suits players aged 13 and over. Don’t give it to an eight-year-old who plays on Saturdays: on Steeden’s chart, six to nine-year-olds use the Mini and 10 to 12-year-olds the Mod. One more thing. It’s shipped deflated, so put a ball pump in the same parcel or it can’t be kicked on Christmas morning.
The backyard goal kicker: a tee with two heights
Isaiya Katoa kicked four goals from four against Samoa at the World Cup, and every kid who watched will want a go in the backyard. Steeden’s telescopic tee is two tees in one. It slides from 6 cm to 11 cm, so it sits low for a shot at goal and higher for a kick-off.
Most buyers call it sturdy. One says the two parts come apart after each kick and the top setting wobbles. If your kicker likes the ball sitting high, expect to clip it back together between kicks.
A junior player’s stocking: a spare mouthguard
The NRL strongly recommends a mouthguard for every player at contact training and games. Its policy says the ideal is one custom-fitted by a dentist, and the Australian Dental Association agrees: a guard you mould at home can end up thinner in some places than others.
So treat this one as the spare. It’s the guard that lives in the kit bag for the Saturday the good one gets left on the kitchen bench. It was the best-selling sports mouthguard on Amazon Australia on 2 November. It comes with a case, in a junior size for players up to 11 and an adult size for 12 and over.
You fit it in hot water, so stay at the stove while you do it. One buyer left it in too long and it shrank before they could bite into it. The ADA also suggests writing the player’s name on both the guard and the case, which helps when it turns up in somebody else’s bag.
The rugby union fan: the 2027 World Cup ball
The men’s Rugby World Cup is in Australia next year. Australia’s first game is against Hong Kong China in Perth on Friday 1 October 2027, and the final is at Stadium Australia in Sydney on Saturday 13 November.
Gilbert’s licensed replica is a full size 5 ball with a design based on the Australian landscape. It’s a replica, so it’s for casual games and the shelf rather than match day. Of the five gifts it sells the least, at number 38 in Amazon Australia’s rugby balls. It’s here because a union fan will still have it on the shelf when the tournament starts.
How we chose
We read Amazon Australia’s best-seller charts for rugby balls, rugby equipment and the sports fan shop on 2 November 2026 and checked each product page. We left out anything rated under four stars and anything shown as unavailable. We will check the list again on 1 December.
Between presents, the Rugby League World Cup 2026 table has the semi-final draw, and our report on the Jillaroos’ 124-6 win over Wales covers Chapman’s six tries.
