Oberon led throughout to complete the defence of the title they won in 2025, when they beat Manildra 32–8. It is the club’s second Woodbridge Cup first-grade premiership.
How Both Sides Got There
Blayney arrived as the form side of the finals series, and as a first-time grand finalist. They eliminated Cargo 30–22 in the preliminary final, then produced the upset of the campaign by beating minor premiers Trundle 34–10 in the grand final qualifier — a Trundle side that had led the competition for the first six rounds of the season.
Oberon, meanwhile, were defending the title they won in 2025 against Manildra, and booked their place with a 36–8 win over the Cowra Magpies in the other grand final qualifier. Cowra ended Manildra’s 2026 campaign 28–22 in the other preliminary final.
